Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2019: a car that does not change much compared to the previous versions. As soon as it entered the market it was the only car in Alfa Romeo’s house that guaranteed the brand a very high number of sales (many also in Germany), now it is flanked by models on the market such as Giulia and Stelvio.
It is still the strong point of the house today and is particularly appreciated by the public despite the signs of aging are evident and despite being free from radical changes in aesthetics and in the engine sector.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta: 8C’s daughter
Starting from the outside the lines are the same as the first model without distortions to optical groups, side lines or special cuts. Everything was left in its place, faithful to the purist lines stolen from the Alfa 8C. The following changes were received: mirrors, extractor, front grille and other small details such as the “giulietta” lettering on the right side of the rear. In the prominent grille is the honeycomb shield, a distinctive element for all Alfa Romeo models.
The front light clusters instead host a vertical strip of daytime led lights and the illuminating group is xenon. At the rear, the headlights are composed of a LED strip that runs along the entire length of the headlight. The dimensions of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta are 4.35 in length, 1.80 in width and 1.47 m in height and allow it to fully fit into the C segment.
Alfa, In the aesthetic accessories package, also provides the ability to customize the covers of the mirrors, the spoiler with a carbon look finish and many other elements that alternate depending on the configuration.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, you can feel the same emotions as the Alfa Mito, a sportiness held in check. The materials used for the dashboard and door panels are not particularly premium even if in any case the assembly is great so as not to present any particular noise to the driving.
Even the interior design as an exterior should be reviewed in fact the steering wheel that should be an element of grit and sportsmanship in a car of this segment still remains too large and massive with an outdated geometry (it was however currently equipped with voice commands and Bluetooth integrations).
The interior equipment includes a seventh-generation Alfa Connect infotainment with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, then the rear parking camera is useful. In front of the gear knob, there is a glove compartment in the DNA system (Dynamic, Natural, All weather) with an SD card slot and a USB socket. The audio system includes a Bose Sound System with a maximum power of 500watts.
Switching to the rear seats, the entry is difficult due to the bulge of the wheel arches, once seated comfort is good for the feet but discreet for the head and legs. The folding armrest in the central area of the seats and the air vents in the lower part of the tunnel are also useful, even if there is no power outlet to recharge the smartphone or other tech objects. The trunk traces the same problem as the Alfa Romeo Mito, a capacity in limits compared to the competitors in the segment (only 350 liters) and lack of attachment hooks to place the objects in the compartment. However, the materials used are very good and the tunnel is large enough to position the skis or other long objects.
