Audi RS6 Avant: the elegant and dynamic super family car

The Audi RS6 Avant is the German luxury station wagon devoted to dynamism and sportiness, thanks to the V8 turbo engine and over 600 horsepower on the road. It is a car that has no equal within its sector and debuts in the new version at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

It is for those who want a comfortable and equipped with every comfort car, but at the same time able to give satisfaction to the driver even in the most demanding routes. Audi engineers and designers have studied the car in every detail, and in this sense there are no compromises. The counterpart obviously is on the list price, but on the question the potential buyer is already prepared, as is normal when considering bringing home one of the models that fall within the RS line.

RS6 Avant: the dimensions of the wagon

Let’s start with the dimensions of the latest version currently available to the public of the Audi RS6 Avant. The car is 4.98 meters long and 1.94 meters wide, for a height of 1.46 meters. The wheelbase is almost three meters, an element that underlines the availability of interior space for the seats (approval is for five seats). The empty mass corresponds to 2010 Kg, while the boot can contain from 565 to 1680 liters (depending on whether the rear seats are knocked down or not).

From an aesthetic point of view, the RS6 Avant impresses with its dynamic lines and at the same time with the elegance typical of Audi design. The front is characterized by the classic black honeycomb grille with the brand logo in the center and under the plate. On the sides, there are at the bottom two large air intakes and in the upper one the sloping and aggressive LED lights, which run towards the side of the car.

The side is linear and elegant, while the back closes with the classic horizontal LED headlights and with two sports exhausts able to further emphasize the sportiness of the car.

Engine

When we talk about station wagons, the idea generally goes to a car that certainly doesn’t shine for performance and sportiness. With the RS6 Avant Audi has shuffled the cards of tradition by offering the driver a unique experience, guaranteed by a 3993 cubic centimeter petrol engine, supercharged and able to offer 605 horsepower and 445 Kw of power.

Everything is combined with permanent four-wheel drive and electronically controlled automatic transmission, with the possibility of manual and sequential use on the basis of 8 reports. Performance is a real supercar, with a top speed limited by the house at 250 km per hour, reachable in just 3.7 seconds. Consumption is expected: 9.6 liters per 100 km for the mixed. The figure rises to 13.4 for the urban cycle and drops to 7.4 for the extra-urban area.

Audi RS6 Avant: interior

From the point of view of car care, this model confirms the great work carried out by Audi designers, starting from the choice of materials and their assembly. Obviously, the style is that of the RS cars, with enveloping and sporty seats (characterized by the integrated headrest). On the dashboard, there is no lack of pleasant carbon finishes.

The combination of sportiness and elegance is guaranteed by the integration between leather and Alcantara in the upholstery. The dashboard and the control panel are designed to minimize distractions and to integrate perfectly with the infotainment system and digital car management.

Price and final considerations

With the RS6 Avant Audi has managed to create the perfect car for those looking for a station wagon equipped with every comfort and at the same time not wanting to give up sporty driving. A mix that connects two antipodes and that certainly was not easy to achieve. On the other hand, the car has elite claims and is destined for a few people.

The price exceeds € 117,000. If you want more customization, you also need to prepare yourself to add several thousand euros to the budget, raising the cost to over 125 thousand euros.
